The results of the Texas Senatorial Candidate Interviews held August 11, 2011

Alliance of Constitutional Patriots' Candidate Interview Process

The Score Card/Straw Poll form was divided into three sections.

Section One is a arithmetic tabulation of each audience member's opinion of how well each candidate answered each question, compared to what the member would have considered a "perfect" response.

Section Two is the Straw Poll; designed to capture how the audience would vote immediately after hearing and observing each candidate.

Section Three records each audience member's assessment of whether or not the job interview methodology provided information that changed their pre-event preference (among the participating candidates) and how they ranked the job interview method against all other methods designed to provide relevant candidate information to an audience.

It must be noted that each candidate who filed for the office was formally invited to participate. Of those invited, the six listed rose to and met the challenge:  M. Glenn Addison, Andrew Castanuela, Ted Cruz, Elizabeth Ames Jones, Thomas Leppert, Lela Mae Pittenger.

210 cards were returned with arithmetic tabulations. Of those, 204 expressed a preference in the straw poll and method assessment sections.

  • In Section One, the candidate who best captured and expressed the audience members perception of the "correct answer" was Mr. Ted Cruz. He was followed closely by Glen Addison, Lela Mae Pettenger, Thomas C. Leppert, Elizabeth Ames Jones, and Andrew P. Castanuela -- in that order.
  • In Section Two, the Straw Poll resulted in the following percentage of votes:
  • Section Three:
  • 54% of the audience reported that the event changed their candidate preference
  • 46% reported that it did not
  • 99% reported that the Job Interview format was more informative than the "typical" TV political debate.
  • 1% said it was less informative.
